The project entails the design of two independent private residences on a site nestled in the Pre-Andean foothills of the Andes. Located within a low-density setting, the property features a west-facing slope that commands sweeping views over the city.

The design concept splits the site into two separate platforms by means of a primary retaining wall. This wall becomes a dividing element, defining each lot and creating private outdoor areas for both residences. Each home is articulated in an “L” shape, working in tandem with the perimeter walls to form enclosed private courtyards. The placement and geometry of the houses respond directly to views, privacy requirements, the creation of outdoor living spaces connected to the interiors, and the maximization of natural light.

House A

The house is located on the first of the platforms and consists of two superimposed volumes.

On the first level, the entrance gallery separates the kitchen and service block from the master suite and leads to a living–dining room with high ceilings and garden views. From the living area, one can access an exterior terrace and garden.

The second level consists of an elongated bar oriented east–west that rests on the volume of the first level.

This upper volume contains the bedrooms and a second living room with access to the terrace. A long corridor organizes the bedrooms between both ends.

The east and west ends are enclosed to mitigate solar exposure and provide privacy between the houses.

The east side features a cantilever that shelters the exterior terrace on the first level.
